Privacy Policy
Protecting your privacy is important to ZIP TeleCom ("ZIP"). This Policy explains how ZIP collects, uses, and discloses the information you may provide while using the ZIP Web site and the services provided on or through the Web site (collectively, the "Web Site").
YOUR CONSENT
1. By using the Web Site, you signify your consent to ZIP's collection, use, and disclosure of your information in accordance with this Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, you may not use the Web Site. You represents that you have the right to provide the information to ZIP in connection with using the Web Site, including, but not limited to, obtaining applicable consents from identifiable individuals.
Any e-mail or other communication requesting your password, asking you to provide sensitive account information via email, or linking to a website with a URL that does not contain ziptel.ca should be treated as unauthorized and suspicious and should be reported to ZIP immediately. It is your responsibility to maintain the confidentiality of any passwords issued by ZIP. If you do share your ZIP password with a third party for any reason, including because the third party has promised to provide you additional services such as account aggregation, the third party will have access to your account and your information, and you will be responsible for actions taken using your password. If you believe someone else has obtained access to your password, please change it immediately by logging in to your account and changing your account profile settings, and also contact us right away.

2. Non-Identifiable Information - Like many other Web sites, the Web Site automatically collects certain non-identifiable information regarding Web Site users, such as the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer, the IP address of your Internet Service Provider, the date and time you access the Web Site, the Internet address of the Web site from which you linked directly to the Web Site, the operating system you are using, the sections of the Web Site you visit, the Web Site pages read and images viewed, and the content you download from the Web Site. ZIP uses this non-identifiable information for Web Site and system administration purposes and to improve the Web Site. ZIP may disclose the non-identifiable information to others and permanently archive it for future use.
3. Cookies - The Web Site uses "cookies", a technology that installs information on a Web Site user's computer to permit the Web Site to recognize future visits using that computer. Cookies enhance the convenience and use of the Web Site. For example, ZIP uses the information provided through cookies to recognize you as a previous user of the Web Site (so you do not have to enter your information every time), offer personalized Web page content and information for your use, track your activity at the Web Site to respond to your needs, and otherwise facilitate your Web Site experience. You may choose to decline cookies if your browser permits, but doing so may affect your ability to use certain features of the Web Site.

4. Personal Information Provided By You - During your use of the Web Site, you may be asked to voluntarily provide certain information such as your business name, email address, postal address, and telephone number. Additionally, in using the services associated with the Web Site you may be asked to provide certain information, such as troubleshooting information. It is always your choice whether or not to provide the information. If you choose not to provide requested information, however, you may not be able to use certain features and services of the Web Site. ZIP may also keep a record of all correspondence with you.
5. ZIP's Use of Your Information - ZIP may use your information to contact and correspond with you, to respond to your inquiries, provide services to you, to determine whether to grant access to certain special features of the Web Site and to comply with legal requirements. ZIP may develop a member profile for you. ZIP may also send to you, from time to time, email or other communications containing information about ZIP, and other matters (including third-party products or services) ZIP believes will interest you. At any time you may ask ZIP to stop sending you email and other information by contacting our Privacy Manager. Also, each unsolicited email ZIP sends to you will tell you how to decline further unsolicited email. From time to time ZIP may also send you email containing important information regarding the Web Site. 6. Disclosure of Your Information - ZIP may disclose your personal information in the following circumstances:
(i) Disclosure to Service Providers - In order to provide the Web Site and certain services associated with the Web Site, ZIP may disclose some of your information to third party service providers including technical service providers and other telecommunications companies for the provision of services to you. Before information is disclosed to a service provider, the service provider will agree with ZIP to protect the privacy of your information in a manner that is consistent with this Policy. If you do not wish ZIP to provide your information to those service providers, you may not use the Web Site.
(ii) Disclosure in Business Transfers - ZIP may be involved in the sale, transfer or reorganization of some or all of its business at some time in the future. As part of that sale, transfer or reorganization, ZIP may disclose your information to the acquiring organization, but will require the acquiring organization to agree to protect the privacy of your information in a manner that is consistent with this Policy. If at any time you do not wish ZIP to disclose your information as part of the sale or transfer of some or all of ZIP's business, please notify our Privacy Manager.
(iii) Law Enforcement and Legal Disclosure - ZIP may disclose your information to a government institution that has asserted its lawful authority to obtain the information or where ZIP has reasonable grounds to believe the information could be useful in the investigation of unlawful activity, or to comply with a subpoena or warrant or an order made by a court, person or body with jurisdiction to compel the production of information. ZIP may also disclose your information i) in order to comply with court rules regarding the production of records and information or as otherwise permitted or required by law, ii) to ZIP's legal counsel, iii) to credit collection or billing agencies iv) emergency service providers or iv) ZIP's agents and affliates.
7. Securing Your Information - To help protect the confidentiality of your information, ZIP employs security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information. Nevertheless, due to the nature of the Internet and Internet technologies, security and privacy risks cannot be eliminated and ZIP cannot guarantee that your information will not be disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this Policy.
8. Retention of Your Information - ZIP will retain information for only as long as required to fulfill the identified purposes or as required by law. Information that is no longer required to fulfill the applicable purposes will be destroyed, erased or made anonymous.
9. Accessing Your Information - You may request access to your information and information about ZIP's collection, use and disclosure of that information by contacting our Privacy Manager. Subject to certain exceptions prescribed by law, you will be given reasonable access to your information, and will be entitled to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the information and to have it amended as appropriate. You can help ZIP maintain the accuracy of your information by notifying ZIP of any changes to your information.
10. Indemnity - By using this Web Site and disclosing information to ZIP you agree to indemnify and defend ZIP and ZIP's affiliates, subcontractors and agents (and each of their shareholders, officers, directors, employees and contractors) against all third party claims and resulting losses and damages arising from the information you provide to ZIP, including but not limited to, infringement of intellectual property rights, including privacy rights, and breach of applicable privacy and data protection laws.

11. Other Web sites - The Web Site may contain links to other Web sites or Internet resources. When you click on one of those links you are contacting another Web site or Internet resource. ZIP has no responsibility or liability for or control over those other Web sites or Internet resources or their collection, use and disclosure of your information.
12. Web Site Use Agreement - The Web Site Terms of Use Agreement governing your use of the Web Site (click here to view), contains important provisions, including provisions disclaiming, limiting or excluding ZIP's liability for your use of the Web Site and provisions determining the applicable law and exclusive jurisdiction for the resolution of any disputes regarding your use of the Web Site. Each of those provisions applies to any disputes that may arise in relation to this Policy and ZIP's collection, use and disclosure of your information, and are of the same force and effect as if they had been reproduced directly in this Policy.
13. Former Users - If you cease using the Web Site or your permission to use the Web Site is terminated by ZIP, ZIP will continue to use and disclose your information in accordance with this Policy as amended from time to time.
14. Privacy Policy Changes - This Policy may be changed from time to time in ZIP's sole discretion and without any prior notice or liability to you or any other person. ZIP's collection, use and disclosure of your information will be governed by the version of this Policy in effect at that time. New versions of this Policy will be posted here. Your continued use of the Web Site subsequent to any changes to this Policy will signify that you consent to ZIP's collection, use and disclosure of your information in accordance with the changed Policy. Accordingly, when you use the Web Site you should check the date of this Policy and review any changes since the last version. ZIP also suggests that you bookmark this page and periodically review this Policy to ensure that you are familiar with the most current version.
